Ashley Santiago

Hello,

I’m Ashley Santiago, a digital artist with experience creating videos, designing, and photography. I’m 19 years old and attend California State University San Marcos as an Art Major with a Film Minor. My journey as an artist first began when I created designs for concert freebies. After discovering the music genre ‘K-pop’ and attending my first concert, I was intrigued by the many custom designs made by fans for fans. I then used my own resources to create different kinds of freebies, such as pins, banners, stickers/decals, and more based on the group concepts. I expanded my learning by moving from digital design to video when working at the CSUSM Innovation Hub. I started creating videos to increase student engagement by showcasing our services and space. I was also able to practice video in different media for assignments. Outside of school, I also began to film my own short videos through TikTok. This allowed me to expand my network and create fan engagement with other creators with a handful of viral videos. Moreover, I began to learn photography using a Canon T1i-10 to capture nature sceneries and profiles. Throughout the development of my skills, I always kept an open mind to learning and creating. I also developed event coordination through my current job at CSUSM’s Office of Graduate Studies and Research, as well as clienteling as a sales associate at Zumiez.
